If you are going home you have top stop by the Fox and experience of of Zimbabwe's best night clubs. Red Fox Will also soon be launching a fully Caribbean themed restaurant to compliment the " MaRasta" theme. A Jamaican chef will shortly be in Zimbabwe to train the Red Fox chefs courtesy of Mr Easy who recently was in Zimbabwe as well. "MaRasta" are taking the brand to a whole different level and are certainly putting Zimbabwe on the map.

As the new year euphoria is coming to an end Zimdancehall McZ are doing their best to keep us on a high and we have to say they have started the Year with a bang. As you know there is thousands of tunes out every week and we can only to do Ten we feel are gonna be rocking dancehall floors and parties alike,some underground and some on Radio, good music all the way. In no Particular order and please note we are not comparing artist here but the according to their capabilities and past hits.

1) Jusa Dementor has started the year with the release of a new promotional video track titled "Iwe Kimberly," promoting empowerment among Zimbabweans. The initiative which is being launched under the group's RIZE label is aimed at encouraging Zimbabweans to use their own resources to develop themselves. "In line with the Zimbabwean Indigenous investment programme currently being undertaken, it was ABRA's initiative to pen the song "Kimberly" by Jusa. This song is about is what we Africans need as a whole self empowering through our resources and for we believe we are masters of our own destiny and for that we give the song an 8 outta 10. The chorus is not bad either.

2) Dhadza D has been working hard recently working with a top producer named Kritical and letting his talent do the talking. His performances have been consistent as was recently seen at Movado show in Chitungwiza where some fans have said it looked like it was him who had come from Jamaica because of his energy and how he wowed the crowd. 3) Winky has proved us wrong we have to say as we thought he was in-decline as some times artist tend to survive on past glory as last year he did not produce songs we feel were strong enough like Takaipa and others and he was singing about past songs in a new song for a guy of his calibre with Lyrics being his strongest point we felt he could do better.And better he did, he started the year with a bang with two Madd tunes Wakasara and Sando dzangu and we have to say they are equally as good as each other i thought wakasara was the wicked one and then i listened again to Sando dzangu and we can only give both songs a 9.2 outta ten. 5)Freeman has ended the year on a high and began it on a high too. The problem with many good artist is they come and do one or two tunes although they maybe talented, it takes more. You need to keep firing as the industry is saturated. 7)Ricky Fire is a man on fire and on a mission. This man is a true Lyrist, his tunes are hard to listen to and not go how did he think of that. 10)Trinta is back with an Album named Masiziva and is full of songs that inspire with a true meaning about life situations and he is here to stay. The song to watch out for are Masiziva a love song. RED RAT PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR 2011

Red Rat or Double R as he is recently known has graced the shores of Zimbabwe alongside Mr Easy and Pascalle for Redfox Stingfest 2011. Although the show could have been better advertised as the turn out was so poor, some people in the Ghetto did not even know RED RAT was coming. It can only be a lesson for Robert Zhuwao the promoter to cover this area next time. One thing that all who were there can agree on was RED RAT gave a performance that is being considered as the best among-st all the Jamaicans who have graced our shows this year with a live band. Mr Easy played his part but having a life band could have enhanced his performance. Special appreciation and thanks to Red Rat and Pascalle who managed to donate some clothes to Mathew Rusike home for orphans just before Christmas. Something which is rarely done by international artist who grace our shores and for this we applaud them. He also perfomed in Kwekwe and he will be at Red fox for a new year's eve for a show dubbed Dustdown.

1) How did you get involved in music ?
I just grew up wt a passion 4 music.i started listening to dancehall as early as 1997, I tried to write my own songs in 2004 and started recording in 2005, since that time i have never looked back.

2) Who is your influences and who would like to share the stage with locally and internationally ?
I am influenced by the likes of Richie Spice,I wayne,Cali P,Poopcan,Tarus Riley and Bigman.

b)What message is he spreading to the world and why through music that message
Music to me is all about edutainment that is it educates and entertains at the same time.at times i just sing merely for entertainment purpose but i also spread positivity through my music,exterminating and liquidating social ills, because music is a universal language and it spreads faster.

3) How do you write your songs where do your inspiaration come from?
Im inspired by real life situations.like my song mukombi is just a chronicle of the harrasment we face everyday as we travel by kombis.so if something pleases or displease me i sing about it (dont be surprised if you hear me singing about this interview too lol)

4) What has been your challenges in your carrier so far and how have you over come them?
One big challenge is that of money!a certain producer told me to pay 200usd just for a track.thats too much!but everything changed wen i met Gaanwid.

5) When is the album coming?  My album is coming out end of January 2012

6) How do you see the industry growing what things would you like to see so life will be better for upcoming artist like you?
Zimdancehall is growing.Older folks are dancing to our tune many thanx to Wink d and his'maninja'phenomenon, for life to be better all upcoming artists must be afforded fair airplay we want to see an absolute elimination of bias at our radio and TV Stations

7)Do you work with other artist ? and if you would work with one artist locally and international who would it be?
I have worked with all artists 4rm Trinidad studios,Maria gomez(cyprus).locally would want 2 work with Winky d.

I want to be a replica of vybz kartel want to be international

I was scared it was on 2 June 2007 at a high school V show but, i regained momentum after i heard the ladies screaming my name!

The only thing to expect in my next album is the unexpected!got alot of collabos like the one with Maria Gomez,Anna,MC Madd,jay jey and the late Monsterman all frm Cyprus.i was also encouraged to try a fusion of mbira and dancehall by Tsungi Zvobgo who is manager to Chiwoniso so, watch out for that too!

12) If you can change 1 thing inthe world what would it be.
I want to stop the proliferation of nucleur plants because they are are threat to humanity.also would want to end unipolarity in international relations.

Fear is my greatest fear i conquer it with faith

15) What has been the most valuable advice you have been given in your life and what is your philosophy in life as well?
I was told that the end of every finishing line is the beginning of a new race. My philosophy in life is to do unto others what you want them to do unto you. If we all abide to that dictum the world will be a better place.

He made a name for himself when he signed a record deal with TOPSHATTA RECORDS and his debut album was "WELCOME PRINCE AH FIRE" ' which had massive tracks like 'DONT GET STUCK, CHIKOSORO, NINJA UNENUNGO" which where in Zimbabwe TOP 20 for a number of weeks and it made a statement that Zimdancehall was turning a new leaf and was here to stay. Without a doubt he is one of the HEAVY WEIGHTS in ZIMBABWE-DANCEHALL CIRCLES. Currently he is working on a new Album and will be throwing some tunes for the Japanese, Jamaican market as he goes international.

This show looks like the one to top all the shows this year which saw an influx of Jamaica international Artist coming to Zimbabwe. Its like Zimabwe is like little Jamaica now which is good because it means our industry will only grow as long as those who deserve a chance get to perform alongside these guys, so that when these these guys leave our shores they will spread a word to say Zimbabwe has got talent too not that the fans loved us as that does not benefit us in the long run. We need to export our talent too if we are to be leaders as Zimdancehall is not short of fans even on the underground in Jamaica. King Labash got air play with his hit Ghetto pressures tune and that was it. We need to gain something out of these shows otherwise give and get is the way forward. The local line up for this show is sound.

Its business of-course but we feel it will be a good idea if promoters work together and bring these international artist to perform at a festival of some sort where they will share the stage with Zimbabwe's finest as there is enough talent inna Zimbabwe of international standards so that their names will go down in history as people who put Zimdancehall pon de world Stage and we would be ever grateful for that. If promoted well it will also benefit the tourism industry as people from the region will be coming for these shows because too much of something is never good. Otherwise we appreciate their efforts still and this if this vision comes alive it will be Madd. The show is sheduled for the City sports centre and Local Supporting Acts are Mc INNITY , Junior Banton, Red Fox, Judgement Yard, Transit Crew, Legendary crew to mention a few.

MAVADO COMING HOME!

Zimbabwe has become a home for Jamaican Ragga Deejays as was proved in the last year or so or should we say since The Great Bob Marley graced our Great Zimbabwe. All the Big names in Dancehall have graced our wonderful country most did not disappoint and now The Gully Gud is the latest star to grace our shores just before Christmas. There are reports saying Red Rat and Jah Cure will also becoming soon and dates are yet to be confirmed but its on as with Merciless and the return of Shabba too. This is good as our local artist have been learning and soon it will be our time to export our talent as it has come of age as Micky Inity, Dhadza D, I Watta have been proving when it has come to live performances with a band. And there is an African Reggae Festival in Kenya which Dhadza D may be going to if all goes according to plan.

The latest in the line is dancehall sensation David Constantine, popularly known as Mavado or “The Gully God”, who is expected to come through to Zimbabwe this December.

Born in the micro-ghetto community “Cassava Piece” within Kingston, Jamaica, the 30- year-old became an overnight sensation with his debut single on the Anger Management riddim – “Real McKoy” in 2004.

Before getting his break in the music business, Brooks worked as a barber.

Mavado says his two main influences on the direction of his young life were his grandmother and the music of Bounty Killer“It was my grandmother that first really brought me in the studio, cause she brought me in the church to sing. She always told me to sing for her and that really gave me the courage to love music,” said Mavado. The sweet sounds of gospel provided the motivation, while it was the gruff voice of Bounty Killer that proved to be the more powerful influence.

When it comes to Zimdancehall there are a few woman who have managed to fight the prejudice that they can not be stars in their own right. Most young ladies only feature on collaborations and rarely become credible artist in their own right. Only a few come to mind when talking about female artist who have managed to stand and make a name for them selves in this difficult industry ie Expatriot, Lady Bee, and now LADY SQUANDA. The young lady is taking over and is in demand all over and she continues to seduce fans with her sweet voice and is now signed to Punchline Entertainment.

Her most popular songs like wicked collaboration with self styled Dancehall Doctor Freeman, neshungu is a hit for time to come and dancehall doctor, and a some in her own right like Sadza rangu, Holy Cost Fire, Tiri two, I like dat and Chamba ne Bronko just to mention a few talks about things that happen daily in Zimbabwe youts life's and you can easily relate. 1) Lets start with Squanda where did the name came from and what does it mean ?
I Just came up with the name and it means crushing since i am a crusher when it comes to Zimdancehall

2) Why did you choose Zimdancehall instead of museve or other musical genres?
I realised that i had a passion for this kind of music and most female artist are not into that so i just wanted to try something new

b)What message is Squanda spreading to the world and where does the inspiration come from?
Well its not always about having a certain massage but rather entertaining the ghetto youts, I also sing about what happens in the ghettos aqnd have to say I like Lady Saw too much

3) How do you write your songs as there is interesting ones like Sadza Rangu and Holy coast fire is it something that comes from your personal experiences like wadyirwa munya wako or wakamboenda kushandirwa na madzibaba lol?
Its not like it happened to me but i just came up with the tracks since it is something that happens in our everyday life ko tinogara mughetto ka (We live inthe ghetto innit)

3b) Some people have been saying you and Freeman are good artist in your own rights but your collaborations are some of the bes ever (,Like neshungu, dancehall doctor)t for songs you have done together is there more coming or an album or a group for you and freeman were you one off album ?
Not necessarily those were just single tracks and taingoita kut zvityise we just wanted to try something different in zimdancehall but i really enjoy working with Freeman since he is top artist of the moment

4) What has been your challenges in your carrier so far and how have you over come them?
It has been so hard for people to appreciate my music since i am a women most peoples think Zimdancehall is for man but however ini handisi ku zomira kubuditsa manumber maheavy( i am not going to stop releasing heavy tracks) that has been the greatest challenge

5) When is the album coming out and were can we get it?

ZIMDANCEHALL ZIM SUMFEST A RESOUNDING SUCCESS!

On the 29 of October 2011 those who did not make it to Highfields or Fiyo as it is popularly known for the Zim Sum Fest 2011. Kutaurirwa hunyimwa as it was such a spectacle, The stage was of international standards. This is the beginning of great things to come when promoters treat our own stars the way they should be, we all benefit as artist will put more heart in their work. It was Heavy i Gaanwid conluded. People turned out in their thousands and next year it will even be better.

Qounfuzed opened the show in style and he showed people his different style this is one talented yut who is on the up, his ward robe was on point, the yut got style. Ras Tiraz come after and people jumped like crazy another promising talent. African Shumba sang well and he told people that Zimdancehall is not a one man show even if other artist were missing from the line up people still had a wonderful time and the show went on. Its not a one man industry like Zora Music if Zhakata dies he goes with it.

Sniper the sharp shooting solder did his best and he did not disappoint. The talented upcoming yut Ricky Perplex sang well at first akajambisa vanhu and he later lost communication with the band but it was on Point. Almaxton (Gandaga) from Bindura has got a great future ahead of him most definitely he did not travel for nothing. Everyone was happy using a live band no major mistakes at all, Legend Elly maintained the pace with the live band. Mackman an upcoming artist who did some collaboration with Badman did his best. Badman did not disappoint in his back yard he showed he is on the up still and he is heavy weight.

Ricky fire the chanter was proved a hit with the ghetto yuts he is well loved as he was penning hit after hit using backtracks and he was one of the highlights of the festivals. Benjy T left the stage people asking for more. Kalabash did himself justice using live band. I Watta did very well as he been making a buzz recently. Mic Inity did his thing and people loved him despite singing copyrights.Freeman the Dancehall doctor made the ladies scream before he even came on stage, he is the man of the moment he mashed down the place and he later on introduced the lady of the moment Lady Squandah and people went just crazy.

The talented Guspy sang but by his standards or expectations he could have done better a lot of fans thought he could have done better with his performance but some thought he killed it. Jiggaz did not find his footing at first and people were throwing cans at him and he then introduced his yut Spiderman a 11year old and people were soon jumping and were impressed Big time.Eyahra did well with her reggae style and people where wondering where did this beauty come from. Lady Thanda akajambisa vanhu and she later used a live band.

MR Green is man on the rise you would truly think there is Jamaican in the House people loved his style. Appie T From norton did his best on stage vanhu vakanakirwa.Clash Stereo one vs Faya Lynx was massive. Potato and Malvin showed people that they are still a force to be taken seriously and the dancehall crowd still respect them and they gave a nice time. What will be nice is to have all them artist who are foreign to come to feature shows the Original Dancehall Masters like of Major E, Booker T , Decibel, Jusa Dementor, Maccix, Dubbie Benz just mention a few. That would nice even alongside the likes of Red RAt as A special Guest.
Dhadza D used live band and showed why he is being said he is said to be a true Zimdancehall King in some quarters and will do Zimbabwe proud if he goes to Jamaica people loved him too bad another highlight of the show. His performance will leave people talking for a while.

To wrap up the show was King Shaddy and he gave people a night to remember as they had come to his hood and what a way to pay people respect for coming down. And big respect goes to Hotta fire and Cruxial mix for their massive performance if they go to Jamaica Festivals, no one would even know they are from Zimbabwe they are that good. .The name Tifta waz a nickname from family members. Elder came from other artist in MAFIA 19 and Amp;Rickfyah because of my lyrical content

I chose dancehall because since i was a yut my uncle used to play me Bob Marley& Amp; Peter Tosh then later i started listening to Dancehall and the likes of Buju,Bounty,Bennie to mention a few. And the inspiration comes from artists like Capleton, Anthony B& Amp; and all those who always preach about few

3) How do you write your songs as there is interesting ones like PAMUSORO and MACHRCH ONE is it something that comes from your personal experiences.
I write things i see everyday &Amp ;its natural

4) What has been your challenges in your carrier so far and how have you over come them OR PLAN TO OVERCOME THEM?

Reggae Association of Zimbabwe is holding a Zimdancehall Festival Dubbed ZIM SUMFEST were the Heavyweights of Zimdancehall converge at Zimbabwe grounds in Highfields opposite Gwanzura Stadium for a twenty four hour non stop Zimdancehall niceness in two days time (29 October 2011). It's promising to be a mad day for Zimdancehall fans as there will be a live band Hotta Fyah Band and Crucial Mix who normally play for Mic inity and Dhadza D at Red fox. This is a first on many to come and hopefully we will get to see other international artist were they come as partners and our artsit will learn and all be able to go over to Jamaica and showcase their talent as well (Indigenisation at play here :) ). Big Sounds Fire Lynx and Stereo 1 will battle it out on the day.

This welcomed news as a lot of talent has been over looked when international artist came over to perform. Zimbabwe has enough talent to Make it to the world stage and this is their time to showcase it and we are sure its gonna be fire works. Zimdancehall scene will never bore you as there is so many things happening in the industry as its emerging as the music genre for Zimbabwe no disrespect to Urban Gwavah and Museve .Artist are now going oversees to entertain their fans, studios emerging from every corner. There has been many beefs in the industry as you would imagine in a growing industry some beef from jealousy, some just disliking each other , some thinking they are better than the rest, some just because they want controversy rather than talking to the person they sing about it. We just hope it just ends in singing as we don't want people killing each other like Jamaica ours is a peaceful country. Notable beef has been , Winky D vs Daddy Distres (The late), King Labash vs Madcom, Winky D and Badman, Ricky Fire Vs Jiggaz just to mention a few.

Nevertheless it keeps the industry entertaining as people like a bit of controversy. People will get behind their man regardless. There is a story which we think is the most interesting yet, that has been circulating the underground scene for while, Micky Upcoming Dancehall is claiming Winky D stole his style and he did not have a voice to speak about it until NOW of what happened between the two and Winky D is yet to confirm if the reports are true or false. The two artist will confuse you just like what happens when you meet identical twins for the fist time as they have identical voices and style to someone who is not accustomed to them but with time you will know who is who. Some have said Micky D has better Vocals and some say Winky D is stronger Lyrically, So we have thrown a mix tape for all the Zimdancehall fans Micky D head to Head with WINKY D and let you decide who stole whose style AS THE WHOLE STORY IS THERE...Let the the FUN BEGIN.

Guspy Warrior came on the scene this time as a producer not a Singer as he is widely known as and produced a riddim called IGNITION RIDDIM and we have to say he is good a producer too there is a few artst on the and a special mention goes to a very yut named Smatex with Dambura Ngoma and we hope this talent keeps on being nutured as a lot of yuts just produce one tune and go silent like little hazvi, Tocky Vibes and others we wonder why? Prince Metro, Tifta K and Guspy did it justice. The quality could have been better though when it came to mastering zvinouraya basa next time. Dont rush to put stuff out until stuff is ready song we hear being played at international level are not done over night they take time as quality is paramount ..... 5/10 Quality yarova mamarks.

Winky D released three tunes Ninja Saturday, Facebook tune and Taitirana with a girl named Ninja Lispsy. The facebook is full of sasi and flow which makes people fall in love with this young man but the riddim is okay but did not do him justice we think with the rhymes. 5/10 Taitirana a good tune and we know Winky is creative he getting in to a habit of singing a song about a song like when he refers to ndakapindirwa nevanhu pamubhedha which we feel is getting a bit much and critics are suggesting akupererwa but we beg to differ though. 6/10 Ninja Saturday did not blow it up for us like Bigman and Takaipa its okay not woowww 6/10.....http://www.youtube.com/user/layanmusoja

Freeman, whose song is causing a stir in entertainment joints as well as on the airwaves, has witnessed a phenomenal rise to fame ever since the release of the song that is dedicated to one of Harare's leading shopping malls, Joina City.
The young musician will entertain music lovers at the show that will feature more than 50 sound groups which will battle for the title of the dancehall sound in Zimbabwe.
The cup clash, dubbed "The Harare Show Cup Clash", which has been an annual event for close to two decades will see groups such as Mafia, Ward 26, Dangerzone and the defending champions Black Identity among others battling for top honours.
The cup clash has nurtured talent in Zimbabwe and has seen the rise of such stars like Jiggaz becoming household names.
Show organiser and one of the pioneers of dancehall in Zimbabwe, Jackie B real name Masauko Chafudzika, said the aim of the show was to promote local dancehall talent in Zimbabwe.
"My aim is to promote dancehall music in the country and to see that artistes are given a platform where they can showcase their talent," he said.
On the other hand, Freeman promised a top-drawer act.
"I promise fans a show to remember and I will also take the opportunity to belt out my new tunes that I have finished recording," he said.
For the first time the show will feature two of the best female artistes at the moment, Lady Bee and Lady Squanda.
Other artistes that are billed to perform at the cup clash are Badman, Benji Tee and Highgrade among others.
United Kingdom-based Mega Sound are expected to be guest performers at the show.
Jackie B urged dancehall lovers to come in their numbers and be entertained in a way they have never seen before.
"I urge dancehall lovers to find their way to City Sports Centre and experience dancehall being taken to another level," said Jackie B.

"WINKY D USED BY SATAN"??? TRINTA SPEAKS

SOUTH Africa-based Zimbabwean Dancehall sensation, Trinta — real name Freddy Mazivanjira — has come out guns blazing and labelled popular musician Winky D an ‘agent of Satan’ owing to the seriously ‘dirty lyrics’ that are carried in most of the latter’s songs.

The attack comes amid growing popularity of Winky D who has become the darling of many ghetto youths across the country. In the track aptly titled Ndokumisa on his latest offering Masiziva, Trinta does not mince his words and repeated the same in a wide-ranging RECORDED interview with H-Metro in Johannesburg this week.

“Music is a very powerful medium to either build or destroy. What is Winky D really singing about that can build a nation?” he asked rhetorically. “Anongoimba zve violence after violence zvinobatsira the youth in what way,” asked Trinta. (He sings about violence. How does that help the youth?)

“I admit I have used some rough words in my rebuke but I hope Winky D got the message in my song and will reconsider his ways. We sing the same genre and tese tiri mu industry. Kana mumwe akatadza it’s our duty as artists kuti titsiurane,” said Trinta. “Kana ukatadza uri mwana baba vakakutsiura vanogona kushandisa mashoko akadzika pamwe unganzwe kwete zvekuzvibigger izvi(It is our duty as musicians to advise each other and chastise the other when they do wrong.

If you err as a child your father may use strong language to rebuke you so that maybe the message may sink in and you will not be egotistical),” added the talented but seemingly underrated artist. “We get our inspiration from Jamaican artists the likes of Capleton and Bounty Killer. When one of them does wrong they rebuke and build each other,” said Trinta

It is highly unlikely that Winky D’s camp will view the attack lightly but Trinta is not bothered. “I have nothing personal against Winky D. I am a Christian and use the Bible as a source of my inspiration. The Bible says do not let corrupt communication come out of your mouth. “I have listened to Winky D’s music and realised arikutouraya vapfanha nezvaanoimba. When contacted for comment, Winky D’s manager Jonathan “Shumba” Banda scoffed at the attack in which he regarded as baseless and frivolous. He added that Winky D sings about real issues affecting ghetto youths from where he hails. He insinuated that Trinta’s antics were ‘small boy talk’ trying to get attention.

“We don’t respond to that, those are trivial matters and we can’t waste time that we can rather use to create music that is based on real life issues,” said Banda. Beef between artistes is NOT a new phenomenon in the dancehall industry. In Jamaica, Beenie Man is currently embroiled in a ‘verbal warfare’ with Bounty Killer so is Mavado and Vybz Cartel whose two camps Alliance and Gazza are feuding.

As promised that we will be bringing you Zimdancehall reviews every month of top tunes tunes making noise on the underground as well as all over. And we will not be comparing artist but based on artist potential and ability, whether they are growing or not whether its a hit or a miss because we know some are strong lyrical, some vocally, some handsome some just likable so for us we understand music is a mission not a competition.

We have noted that as Winky D is the top artist at the moment in Zimbabwe most artist are aiming to see him fall so they take his place but we think people should aim higher than that because Winky D is still growing he is still filling Clubs not stadiums and I am sure he knows he has not made it yet thats why he is still humble i guess. Artist should Think BIG and Aim Bigger and Higher, if the Jamaicans artist can do it so can we, we got the talent people should Aim Higher otherwise there is no point. Winky D, King Labash, Centre Party are making waves overseas but thats not enough our artist should aim Higher and concentrate on their works be original and true to your self and style as there is only one you and you should exploit that notion.

One fact that should not be ignored is artist should invest in have vocal coaches if they are to break out of Zimbabwe. There is school choir teachers who they can involve in helping them grow if they cant afford professional ones to start with.Even artist like The Late Micheal Jackson with the way he was talented still had vocal coaches and many international still do too. The Osaphogus is a muscle that shud be trained and cared for in a proper way as Pharrell williams would put it. If you see athelets Like Bolt although they are good they still need coaches to push them even further so ZIMDACEHALL STARS TAKE HEED.

Freeman has teamed up with a few people who are talented in thier own right, next one shold be freeman and Winky D that will be a killer as most of his Collaborations are on Point and his team are right behind him if they nature him well and he believes in himself his tunes will be played all over the continet as he got a distinct voice and i hope artist will not complain that they are playing freemans Music when he breaks to other countries as he did for Masong emuno lol.. SIZZLA IN ACCIDENT

Dancehall artiste Sizzla has been hospitalised in stable condition following a motor cycle crash in St Ann last night. Sizzla, whose real name is Miguel Collins, reportedly crashed along the Salem main road near Runaway Bay around 8:30 pm Wednesday. It is understood that the artiste, who was riding a motor cycle, collided with a bus near the popular Jerky’s Restaurant.

He was reportedly not wearing a helmet. A member of the artiste's camp reported that the deejay was conscious, but could not speak the extent of Sizzla's injuries. Sizzla, who hails from August Town in St Andrew, is known for hits such as Praise Ye Jah, Black Woman and Child, Thank You Mama among other conscious songs and dancehall tracks.

In June, the singjay released his 65th album titled The Scriptures. Sizzla has been scheduled to do a series of tours in Africa, Japan, Brazil, Guyana, among countries in the Caribbean to promote the album. (sOURCE go-jamaica.com)

Sizzla has also rocked Zimbabwe in the past and met the President Robert Mugabe when he came over, and his song Zimbabwe put him Zimbabweans hearts as he has been working wit Ras I and other Zimbabwean artist. GOLDFINGER TO ROCK H-TOWN FANS AGAIN

ICONIC Jamaican wheel-spinner - Chris Goldfinger - will cement his romance with local dancehall lovers when he plays at Red Fox Hotel later this month. The former BBC Radio 1 presenter plays at the popular home of reggae on August 27 and 28 respectively. Red Fox boss and show organiser Robert “Elder Robi” Zhuwao confirmed the gigs saying the wheel-spinner was ready to grace our shores.

“We are going to have Chris Goldfinger holding two shows at the Red Fox Hotel. “This will mark the beginning of our summer programme where we are looking forward to bringing in a couple of top dancehall international acts,” he said.

On his first show, Goldfinger will be supported by Dee Nosh, L Roy, Ash Styles and Nivek. On August 28, Goldfinger will be supported Judgement Yard, Legendary Sound, Sovereign, Musgrave and Etherton Binnie of Stereo One. Goldfinger is a world renowned disc jockey who made it big on the airwaves whilst hosting his dancehall show on the BBC Radio 1 station.

In 2009, he left the station after a long stint of more than 13 years. Since his departure, he has appeared on the 1Xtra Dancehall Mix show. Goldfinger has interviewed many popular guests over the years at Radio 1 like Damian Marley, Beenie Man, Capleton, Chaka Demus and Pliers on Radio 1's Live Lounge from Volume two to five. He has also worked with top presenter DJ Tim Westwood both on radio and in the club circles on several occasions.

WINKY D (KISWA BUTSU)

Winky D mushed up this one too he did not disappoint as this tune is not way off the likes the of Controversy and Musarova Bigman. The chorus is not too catchy though that comparing with pakaita controvesy, or musarova Big man where you can sing out loud and jump but the lyrical content is rich especially when he says Kana 50 kana rick ross kana wiz aiwa hapana akambokiswa butsu he puts his lyrics like a master of shona language. Zimdancehall Industry is flying high and i can be a witness as around 2008 when i was playing a tune Naughty Life by Dhadza D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiJFPHoCNSo) in my car from work with a Jamaican colleague a debate ensured as i told her that the artist was Zimbabwean and the debate was settled when we played it again and that he was singing in Shona. Since then the levels keep improving and artist are singing to international standards and rather than wait for others to do for them what they aught to do for themselves, the likes of Mockery and Templeman are promoting yuts through bashes around ghettos and in time with this pace stadiums will be the only way. This mentality is what The Honorable Marcus Garvey died preaching as he said to quote him " God does not... give people positions or jobs or... good conditions such as they desire; they must do that for themselves.. God does not build cities nor towns nor nations, nor homes, nor factories; men and people do that and all those who want must work for themselves and pray to God to give them strength to do it."

Mockery is a top producer who has done wonders for the industry and produced many hits for every top Zimdancehall Artist from Sniper, Winky D, Dhadza D, King Labash, Guspy, just mention a few. 1)So what inspired you start recording.

Well I just grew up in family where people always liked music but none of my family members had any music history or background. We would to listen to the music of big all time musicians like UB40 & MICHAEL JACKSON and this really contributed to me getting involved with music because I later on discovered the skill.

2.When did you start recording professionally...

I started recording professionally as an urban grooves artist at TRACK RECORDS in Harare in 2008 and in that same year that’s when I met up with many other different producers e.g. GAANWID who I am currently working with right now under his TRINIDAD STUDIOS music stable.

3.Where does you inspiration come from.......

Music changes and differs each and every day, the more the new artists up rise the more the music changes and varies with a different a feel and vibe altogether. So sometimes It is hard to pick or choose the exact sources where I get my music influence or inspiration from but all I can say is that I get influenced by many artists both old and new local and international…At the moment I think WINKY D has set the real music pace that needs to be followed by most musicians in the Zimbabwean Dancehall industry if not the Zimbabwe music industry. I get my inspiration from artists that have always been there in the music circles way before I even started, I get some of my inspiration from artists like KIBAKI,I-OCTANE,STEIN AND BRAMMA….I am also inspired by “Life Stories” and that’s the title of my next single coming out soon.. When writing most of my songs I just meditate on a title and start to work from there and whenever I get an instrumental which suits that particular title and work.

4. What has been your Biggest Challenges so far and how have you over come it....

So far my biggest challenge is radio Air-play.

6. How do you see the music industry growing and what things would you like to see that would make life better for upcoming artist like yourself?......

More air play, love and respect in the music industry. Old artists should respect and consider new upcoming artists because they are the future and upcoming artists too should follow their leader’s steps and that way I think the industry will grow.

7.Do you work with other artist ? If you would work with one artist locally and international who would it be?.....

At the moment I’m only working with artists from TRINIDAD but am planning to work with other big names in the Zimbabwe music industry.

I want to be able to perform and work internationally with big names in the industry worldwide.

My best RIDDIM is the MUXIMUM RIDDIM by GAANWID and yes locally I feel it’s the best so far.

My influences came from ELA.B "MC"out of Master Sounds and the late DADDY DISTRESS as well as MOVADO,BUSY SIGNAL, BUGLE

3) How do you write your songs where do your inspiaration come from?
Some of my songs i write them when im the studio or when im chilling at home as i write about God, Love and respect which happens inthe society.

4) What has been your challenges in your carrier so far and how have you over come them?
Obviously money is an issue money makes the world go round and without it no shelter, food, clothes and no recording as well. Music is our job not just a hustle but with time things will change and we will get paid because its a job to make people happy as without music there is no happiness

I don't have a computer or CDS coz real gangsters na play with Toys! (laughs-kikiki). We are Big fish in a small pool, we need studio equipment i know we will improve our level if this need is met, as well as airplay is kinda of limited at the moment hopefully things will change in this regard a bit of corruption you pay they play, which is tight if you are trying to make music to make a living, hence lots of talent is dying as a result but we will overcome.

5) What has been the best advice you have been give ?
That if i keep on pushing i will be the next GUllY and to be aware of bogus promoters

6) How big do you wanna be?
i don't wanna be big as people think i'm i just wanna be famous more than bread

Locally i would like to work with King Labash and on stage internationally it has to be Movado and Assasin.

One thing i would change is to stop corruption and people who mislead the yuts.

Top Dancehall Artsist Elephant Man Populary Known as the Energy God Performs in Harare Zimbabwe on June 24 at Glenis Arena.

Elephant Man who is also known as The Energy God was born O'Neil Bryan on September 11, 1975 in Kingston, Jamaica and got his stage name because of his big ears. He started his musical career as a member of the Scare Dem Crew, leaving them later to try his luck as a solo artist.
Feature articles about him highlight his unique trademarks; dyed yellow-orange hair, a unique low-key voice, an energetic stage performance which includes jumping, running and sometimes climbing on stage props and monitors and a slight lisp. Elephant Man got his big international break in 2004 when Puma signed him on for their 2004 Olympics campaign where they used his single All Out as its anthem.He has collaborated with the likes of Wyclef Jean, Diddy and Busta Rhymes. Its reported that C and A Entertainment which is promoting the show have announced that the first thousand general tickets will be only $5 and will go up to £10 and inner circle going for $20 and this has been a welcomed development for the Dancehall Fans as past show have been costing a lot and the performances not matching the prices. Although Capleton shows were reported to be on point it most people could not afford to attended the shows.

Trinta (Honey vybz) tapinda pamuchandiona muchapa kutendaaah his introduction to his previous hits and this talented young man is now based in South Africa as an ambassador for Zimdancell as they are doing wonders Along side Buffalo Souljah converting people in wenera to fall in Love with this sweet music. With his lyrical content and style which can be compared to legendary group Bone Thugs n Harmony but with reggae touch there is no Doubt he is one of the most talented artist out of Zimbabwe amongst others.

It seems Zimbabwe is the new destination for INTERNATIONAL STARS willing to entertain people from the motherland as reports say that International artist including multi award winning producer Timbaland, Ciara, Lil Kim and Fat Joe are due to perform in Zimbabwe (Harare on the 27 of May 2011) at an open air concert at Borrowdale race course. This seems to be the biggest yet and with Cira on Board and her dance moves we are sure it will be all worth the money.

Its Part of the first anniversary celebrations being held by a South African Company ZAR owned by millionaire Kenny Kumene populary known as Sushy in South Africa, as they are launching a Zimbabwean Subsidary ZAR Ent. Its being reported that the announcement was made on Monday. “Timbaland will be touring Zimbabwe and South Africa with us to celebrate our birthday at the end of May. There will be a host of great stars performing with him who include Ciara, Fat Joe and Lil’ Kim. So get your lighters ready,” Kunene said. The shows will conclude in South Africa on June 2 and june 4 Jo' Berg.

Tickets are set to go on sale on Wednesday at Nando’s outlets in Avondale, Chisipite, Marimba and Newlands – Minimum tickets US$50 and US$100 to be closer to the stage. Its not clear whether there will be local acts supporting the show.

After he had tongues wagging with his new hairstyle and later attempted to convince the public that it was his real hair, deejay Vybz Kartel yesterday sent out a BlackBerry broadcast message which now contradicts his original statement about his shoulder-length braids.
In the broadcast message, the artiste suggested that the recent negative talks about his new hairstyle stem from the 'badmind' of his success as a musician. He also alluded that he is being unfairly targeted as other artistes have worn extensions and they have not come under the scrutiny that he has been subjected to.
The broadcast message read: 'First off I'd like to say that all the fuss about my hair, as with every other thing that I do has nothing to do with anything except plain old badmind. Because when I was involved in the Ninja Man incident a few years ago, I had in extensions then, why didn't the hullabaloo commence then? Because I wasn't on top so the hating wasn't necessary. When I did "Never Love Another Girl" video in 2005, my hair was permed, why didn't the inquisition commence? Because I wasn't on top so the hating wasn't necessary ... What I'm saying is that when you're on top, people find all kinds of faults and flaws to point out in their quest to tear you down but guess what, I couldn't care less what people say or think about Kartel ... P.S. Mavado, Elephant Man, Machel Montano (whose hair is done by the same girl who did mine) T.O.K. etc have all had extensions put in. Talk bout that."

T.O.K. members, however, have not taken too kindly to Kartel's allusions and Bay-C has since sent out a Blackberry broadcast message of his own. It read: 'To all who seem to be confused, T.O.K. has never worn extensions. To each his own, it's not for me to judge. Having said that, make it clear ... mi a Rasta! Lion of the tribe of Judah! Don't confuse the mane of a lion with the tail of a horse! Bombrush dem!'
Although the broadcast message received by The WEEKEND STAR made no reference to I-Octane, an email from the artiste's manager, Ray Alexander, showed him to be included among the above-mentioned names.
I-Octane's camp also issued a release last night in direct response to Kartel's broadcast message.
"I can't control what another artiste chooses to say," said I-Octane in a release sent to The WEEKEND STAR. "But I've been growing my locks for several years now and the people at Jus Natural in Portmore can vouch for that."
He went on to say that he won't allow anyone to shift his focus from music and he won't spend time thinking or even talking about this issue.
The photographs of Vybz Kartel's hairstyle - a headshot of him in an orange shirt and another in which he suggestively poses on a bed in yellow and blue gear - have also managed to set off a frenzy of comments on popular overseas-based website mediatakeout.com. Several of the comments were riddled with expletives and expressed the disgust of the viewers with his skin bleaching practices with some even making daring suggestions about the Portmore Empire boss' sexuality.

Winky D Continues his World Tour

Winky D "The Bigman" has arrived in Australia for his Oz tour. As the demand Quest for the Bigman continues to grow after begining the tour in England about a month ago.It shows its a new era in Zimdancehall Industry as this is something only Tuku, Mapfumo and Macheso used to do. Now it seems there are new players in town, "Siyayi Maninja Ambopinda". As every yut in Zimbabwe is now singing Dancehall and there is no doubt he has inspired a whole lot of upcoming guys. This proves there is enough talent in Zimbabwe to take this music of ours on the World stage.

We can say thank you to Jonathan Moyo for introducing a law that allowed about 90% local content to be played on our radio station which encouraged the yuts expose their talents and saw the rise of People like Dhadza D, Kinglabash, Mega Spice, Trinta, Daddy Distress(The late) amongst others and now there is cries amongst local musicians to bring back that law, as it is now tough to get stuff played on the radio, Sniper Storm even recorded "Dai Mativhurira Masai sai" (open up the airwaves) which trans-lets to we need more radio stations for the yuts to showcase their talent. As for now people resort to bribing Djs to get their stuff on air which means other talented yuts who have no means are finding their talents going unnoticed.

One guy said Zimbabwe is the new Jamaica and yes we are the African Dancehall Powerhouse and our yuts should not forget using our Mother tongue as that is our strong point rather than just coping Jamaicans and that way we are bringing some thing new to the Market, and this was commented on by JJC aka Skills an international artist from Nigeria as he was watching Clips of Dhadza D and acknowledged that the talent is there but they must not forget their roots as in the language there is power in that not that they must not sing in Patwa but include our beautiful mother tongue as well. As proved by Wicky D he has got fans as far as Nigeria and he will be in America in May and details are below.
